Your website may look different in other web browsers
Did you know that the display of your web page is handled mainly by your visitor's web browser and their browser settings? It may look different to them than it does to you, on your own web browser.
Unfortunately there are many different web browser programs in use today. Testing your web page on every web browser would be very difficult. I recommend testing your website on the top few browsers, since most other web browsers usually mimic one of these anyway. Over 85% of people use either Internet Explorer, Firefox or Google's new Chrome browser. If you wish, you can also test your website on the Opera browser, which is also somewhat popular.
To test your site on the most popular browsers, you will first need to have all of them installed on your computer. This is usually very easy. Just use Google to search for: "download Firefox browser" or "download Google Chrome browser"...etc. Then go ahead and download each one and follow the instructions to install them on your computer.
After you download the browsers, open them up and type in your website address to see how your website looks. You may be surprised to find that each browser displays your website a bit differently. If you notice a severe problem, such as overlapping text or images, or links that no longer work, you will want to fix the problem by modifying the HTML, CSS, or Javascript - or by notifying your webmaster.
