How many different products can I sell online with W3 Shopping Cart?
Unlimited!
Do I have to have my web site hosted with W3Now to use W3 Shopping Cart?
No. W3 Shopping Cart works on any web site, anywhere. You only need to be able to use HTML to place a simple FORM submit into your site for each product being sold.
Do I have to have my own secure SSL web server to use W3 Shopping Cart?
No. W3 Shopping Cart is hosted on it's own 128-bit encrypted secure server, so you don't need to worry about online security at your own hosting company. W3Now's online SSL security certificate is provided by Geotrust.
I don't know how to take credit cards online, can W3 Shopping Cart do that for me?
Certainly! All you have to do is sign up for a merchant account with a company that offers any of these payment gateways:
Next, tell us which payment gateway you signed up for and tell us your gateway information (we will let you know what information we need for each gateway), and we will program it into your W3 Shopping Cart for you. Then, when someone uses your shopping cart, it takes their credit card securely online for you, and the money ends up in your existing bank account.
Do I have to take credit cards online in order to use W3 Shopping Cart?
No. W3 Shopping Cart allows you to offer a complete online shopping cart experience for your shoppers without taking credit cards online. There are two options.
1. You have your orders emailed to you. You may then contact your buyer personally to arrange payment by check, wire transfer, or whatever you decide.
2. You can elect to have W3 Shopping Cart take a credit card online, then email the order to you. Then, you log in securely to W3 Shopping Cart to retrieve the credit card number and key-enter it into your office credit card terminal.
How do I know how much to charge for shipping?
W3 Shopping Cart offers a few different options. You may charge a percentage of total sale for shipping (common is 7%), or you may tell it to charge one shipping price for the first item, a different shipping price for the 2nd item, and another shipping price for the 3rd and all subsequent items. Or, you may charge 1 flat dollar amount for the entire order. You may even offer free shipping. Shipping is never exact online without expensive datafeeds from a major shipping company. The idea is to average-out your shipping expense among all orders.
Do I need to pay sales tax when I sell online?
This is dependent upon your state, county and city tax laws. You can find out by calling your state IRS, or visiting your local government offices online. Commonly, if your state requires you to pay sales tax for normal in-store sales, it will also be required for online sales if the person you are shipping-to is also located in the same state as your online business. Your local IRS office will let you know what state, city and county sales taxes are required online.
Is W3 Shopping Cart brandable, so it looks like my web site when someone is ordering?
Yes, to a certain extent. You can add your logo to the upper left corner and use your primary web site color.
Can I get a report of all my online sales?
Yes. You can log in securely any time and view your online Sales History Report report. The report is printer-friendly.
